Lent starts on 14th February, the special preparation time for Easter!
This month's book by Laura Alary, Make Room A Child's Guide to Lent and Easter is a lovely introduction to this central season in the Christian year.
It describes many key truths and practices in clear, easy to understand language with lovely, diverse illustrations to help you share meaningfully with your child, or children's group. As you explore the deeper reasons behind different lenten practices you could invite yourselves to begin new, challenging and wonderful traditions!
The book has four sections: Making Time, Making Space, Making Room and Holy Week. Each section begins with Jesus; what He did, how He lived and who He is, and then moves onto practical ways of how we may prepare and celebrate today as His followers. Some of these ways include how to communicate with God, how to make amends and offer forgiveness, how to be generous and give away and how to live more simply and sacrificially.
A unique book that invites the readers to use all of their senses to explore, consider and wonder. An inspiration to hopefully begin some meaningful new traditions for families and to draw closer to Christ.
Great for ages 5-11. A book to savour and to return to year after year. You can find out more about the author here: Laura Alary
I wonder why Jesus went into the desert?
Maybe it was quiet and still
Maybe Jesus thought He could hear God better
Maybe He needed to make time to listen so He would know which way to go
