Adventure Times

An Adventure Time is when we use our imaginations to see, hear, and sense Jesus being with us. We can access heavenly realms, encounter Father God and engage with Holy Spirit.

The Godhead created our imagination.

We can use it for good. For example by being creative, believing God’s truth and dwelling on good things...

We can use it for bad. For example by worrying about the future negatively or imagining awful things happening...

I believe God wants to sanctify our imagination; for it to be renewed and restored to be used for His glory and our benefit.

Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy.

Ephesians 4:23-24 New Living Translation

None of us want any of the children in our lives to grow up being afraid and anxious but rather we long for them to be confident, empowered and equipped by God. An Adventure Time enables children to do this, growing closer to Jesus each day.

Did you know that Jesus always gives us a choice in our friendship with Him. He continually loves us, He never leaves us, He forgives, strengthens and delights in us - His door is always open to us!

Yet, Jesus is knocking on the door of our heart: we get to choose whether we want to open it to Him. An Adventure Time is one way we, and the children we care about, can open the door of our hearts to Him, to receive His love, truth, joy, hope and more.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you will eat with me.

Revelation 3:20 New Century Version

  • ‘Jesus found me on the beach. I was a tiny pebble but he saw me and picked me out and then he helped me pop out of the pebble and we went and played in the sea’

    Jess, aged 4

  • ’I said to Jesus, “Take this worry and it will be gone forever!” He took it away. God came and held my hand and said “Whatever worry you have give it to me” I really felt his hand holding mine!’

    Lily, aged 10

  • ‘Jesus came and knocked on the door of my heart. I let him in and he filled my heart with golden light! Now I know what Jesus looks like! Now I can meet with him anytime.’

Speak truths

Speak truths such as: 'We can meet with Jesus!', 'He is here with us!', ' Did you know God gave us our imaginations to use for good, to be with Him?', 'We can learn to be with Jesus!', ' I'm so excited to see what He's going to show me...'

Invite the Holy Spirit

Get comfy and invite the Holy Spirit to be with you. You could say something like: 'We welcome you Holy Spirit. Thank you that you lead us into truth. Thank you that you can help us see, feel, hear and know Jesus more and more...'
