If you haven't discovered the Young Explorers series from Hodder Faith, I highly recommend checking out their books. They bring a fresh, up to date look at key aspects of faith, appealing to this generation of children. And this new NIV Bible for Young Explorers is no exception.

Then each overarching section and book of the bible has a brief introduction, a field or terrain guide, to set the context, the main events and key themes and people. These have really helpful tips on the aim of the text - for example in the Terrain Guide to the Beginnings section (Genesis to Numbers) the reader is encouraged to understand that these book are exploring who God is, who we are and the purpose of life, they are not science textbooks.
Within each book there are lots of extra tips, facts and explanations - these are organised into 7 different features such as Landmark, Camp Fire Fact, Tricky Ground, Soul Fuel and more. There are also 16 extra colour pages dotted through the bible exploring important aspects of character development more deeply, such as courage, faithfulness, determination...
There is plenty to explore, discover and engage with in this exciting, dynamic bible. Definitely worth the investment! Excellent for 8-12 year olds to read themselves.
The bible to me is all about finding home... Faith in the God of love is a journey... What a journey, what a comfort, what a revelation, finding this faith has been.
