Jesus got up and gave a command to the wind and the waves. They stopped, and it became calm.
Luke 8:24
Share the story of Jesus and the storm with your child from Luke 8:22-25 or a story bible.
Play it out with a younger child using the oats, boats and people on a tray.
Challenge your older child to make their own Origami boat from paper.
Let your child explore and then wonder about the story with them: I wonder how Jesus could sleep in a storm, I wonder how the disciples felt, I wonder what the sights and sounds were, I wonder where we are in the story...
Follow your child's leading and have fun exploring together.
Chat about real storms and any experiences you have of them. Chat too about the 'storms of life' when things are difficult, confusing or painful.
Jesus was with His friends in the storm. Did you know He is with us too?
Jesus was stronger than the storm: He stopped it. I wonder what He is saying to the storms we experience today...
Be ready to listen to Jesus and to pray together.
