Bin It

Everyday Resources: toy bin trucks, mini bins or buckets, post it notes, paper, pens

If we confess our sins, He will forgive our sins, because we can trust God to do what is right. He will cleanse us from all the wrongs we have done.

1 John 1:9

With a younger child have fun playing with any bin trucks you may have or wait for bin day and watch the refuse vehicles together. Talk about how they take away the rubbish or recycle the things we don’t need anymore. Have you seen any big bin trucks? Tell me about them…

Involve an older child in taking out the rubbish and recycling. Chat about the many things we throw away and re-use.

Be honest about the times we make mistakes: when we say, do or think wrong or hurtful things. Sometimes these things can get us down if we don't let go, say sorry and receive forgiveness.

Jesus says we can tell Him how we feel and that we are sorry for our part - we can give these hurtful experiences and memories to Him, just like throwing rubbish in the bin or bin truck!

Jesus wants to forgive us, clean us and help us to have a happy heart again! Check out 1 John 1:9.

Use pieces of paper or post-it notes to represent anything you want to give to Jesus and either put it in your toy bin truck or in the actual bin.

Say sorry and thank Jesus for His power to love and forgive us!

Receive His peace. Let Him clean your heart.

Now you are free!
