It's so exciting to discover who children are in God's eyes. Who has he created them to be? What are the gifts, calling and skills that are emerging as they develop? What could be their unique position in his kingdom? Where are they growing? Where do they need more input spiritually?
As I consider this in the children around me I've realised it's a serious task that we, as the adults in their lives, have to train and equip them to be fully part of the church and God's kingdom.
The church needs the children to be functioning in their spiritual gifts and calling now! The world needs the children now! Not just when they are teenagers or adults, but now! They are a vital part of all that God is doing in this nation and world and at this time in history. We miss out on so much truth, revelation and heavenly impact if we fail to train them and don't fully listen to them; to what God's showing them.
I encourage you to pray for the children around you to grow mature in their faith and develop a deep, loving relationship with Jesus and to reveal him to others. I endorse you to find ways to train, equip, encourage, support and enable them to gets loads of practice seeing, hearing and sensing God so they can know, follow and obey him effectively now.
We need them and they need us!
Ephesians 1:16-18 (The Bible, New Century Version): I have not stopped giving thanks to God for you. I always remember you in my prayers, asking the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, to give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation so that you will know him better. I pray also that you will have greater understanding in your heart so you will know the hope to which he has called us and that you will know how rich and glorious are the blessings God has promised his holy people.
